What Drives Top Performance at Work?

It’s no secret that top performance is delivered by self-motivated individuals.

But what motivates us?

Autonomy, Purpose and Mastery – concludes numerous studies.

Essentially, we flourish at work when we have a sense of autonomy, purpose and an urge to get better at our craft.

Hackathons are a case in point.

They provide all the three and result in tangible top performance.

Michelle Loke and myself have been fortunate to run regular hackathons for our tech team of 120+ in Daimler.

And every time without fail, we were blown away by the working prototypes developed by our colleagues.

I’m deeply grateful to all our colleagues who made these events fun and enjoyable for everyone: from participants to supporters to our leaders/judges.
